Terms of Service
Version 1.0.0-draft · Last updated: 12 June 2026
These terms govern the use of the SoNow platform (the "Service"), operated by Matrikar ("Matrikar", "we", "us"). The Service is offered to educational institutes such as coaching centres and tuition institutes (each an "Institute"). By subscribing to or using the Service, the Institute agrees to these terms.
1. The Service
SoNow is a multi-tenant, cloud-based management platform for educational institutes. It enables an Institute to manage enrolment, attendance, assessments, fee records, staff and communication with parents and guardians. Specific features available to an Institute depend on the subscription plan in effect.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
- The Service is intended for use by registered educational institutes and their authorised administrators, teachers and employees.
- The person who accepts these terms warrants that they are authorised to bind the Institute.
- The Institute is responsible for keeping account credentials secure and for all activity under its account.
- The Institute must ensure that staff are granted only the access appropriate to their role.
3. Subscriptions and Payment
- Subscriptions are billed on the plan and billing cycle selected by the Institute.
- Fees are stated in Indian Rupees (INR) unless otherwise agreed.
- Unless stated otherwise, access continues until the end of the paid period after cancellation.
- Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
4. The Institute's Responsibilities for Data and Consent
The Institute decides what personal data is entered into SoNow and is the Data Fiduciary for that data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. The Institute is responsible for:
- Obtaining all necessary consents from students, staff and guardians before entering their data into the Service.
- Obtaining verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian before processing the data of any student who is a minor.
- Ensuring the data it enters is accurate and that it has the right to provide it to us for processing.
- Responding to requests from data principals relating to data it controls, with our assistance where needed.
Matrikar processes this data only as a Data Processor on the Institute's instructions, as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable Use
The Institute and its users agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Enter data they are not authorised to provide, or use the Service to harm any individual, including children
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile or extract the source code of the Service
- Scrape, crawl or bulk-export data other than through provided features
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Share access with parties outside the Institute without authorisation
6. Data Ownership
Data entered by the Institute — including student records, staff records, attendance, assessments and fee data — remains the property of the Institute. We claim no ownership of it and use it only to provide and support the Service. The SoNow brand, software, design and original content remain the intellectual property of Matrikar.
7. Availability and Support
We aim to keep the Service available and to provide reasonable support, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may carry out maintenance and update features from time to time.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Matrikar is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss arising from the Institute's failure to obtain required consents or to use the Service in accordance with these terms.
9. Termination
Either party may end the subscription in accordance with the plan terms. We may suspend or terminate access where these terms are breached. On termination, the Institute may export its data within a reasonable period, after which data is deleted in line with our Privacy Policy.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to Institutes. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
